magic card stab

Reviewed in M-U-M magazine

The Society of American Magicians monthly magazine (Magic Unity Might) has some pretty cool reviews of Alakazapps magic trick apps.

Bruce Kalver writing in the 'Tech Tricks' (April 2010) section has the following to say:

Magic Card Stab "is visually surprising, and, yes, you can do it with different cards."

Magic Bunny "will keep a pre-schooler, and many adults, mesmerized for hours."

Magic Match "is visually stunning."

"Magic Tattoo, combines a digital Hot Rod with the old ashes trick."

To be noticed by the magic society whose president was once Harry Houdini is pretty high praise!

March Updates

Two great updates for March.

Magic Levitate Version 1.2
The app finally has a video tutorial to help with learning the magic trick. Obviously the app also includes the welcome screen, which can be turned off in the device settings app.

Magic Card Stab 1.1
I've added a user suggested feature. You can now perform the trick twice with two different cards. After the first performance, return the dagger and you're good-to-go for a second performance - simple!

Magic Box Vol.2

I'm pleased to announce Magic Box Volume 2 is now available on the App Store.

Volume 2 in the Magic Box series contains: Magic Card Stab, Magic Beer Bottle and Magic X-Ray. These three apps compliment each other perfectly, they're also all age restricted to 12+.

It's worth reiterating that Magic Boxes are a brilliant way to bolster your magic collection without filling loads of 'home screens' with icons. Magic Box Vol. 2 is the perfect way to bring an extra bit of entertainment to a night out. Magic Card Stab alone has been getting great reviews across the globe.

Enjoy!

Pro Tip #5 Being Prepared.

Magic Card Stab requires a little bit of preparation. This does not however mean you can't perform it spontaneously! You can even perform it with a borrowed deck of playing cards.

I'm writing this assuming you own Magic Card Stab and are familiar with the secret move. If you don't own MCS, this might not make much sense.

Step 1
Have the cards shuffled.

Step 2
Say something like, "lets find a good card" then thumb through the cards (faces towards you).

Cards

Step 3
In the process of 'looking for a card', secretly cut the deck at the right place for the trick.

Step 4
Finally say "actually, this would be better if you chose the card". Proceed with the trick as per the instructions.

To the spectator it will simply look like you changed your mind about who should choose the card.
